Epilepsy Training for Families

As a qualified Epilepsy Trainer of The National Society for Epilepsy, we can provide a range of courses in the management and treatment of Epileptic people. All of the courses detailed below can be designed for your own particular needs.

Epilepsy Awareness (3-4hrs)

This course is will provide an insight into caring for a person with Epilepsy. It is an introductory course and so is open to all. The course is ideal for Parents, family members and Carers.
Topics covered include:
What is Epilepsy
Types of Epilepsy and Seizure
Developing a Care Plan
Managing Medicines
Recognising and Emergency
First aid for Seizures
Basic Life Support and The Recovery Position
Epilepsy Video Presentation
Use of Rectal Diazepam or Buccal Midazolam
The course can be run in your home and will provide reassurance and guidance for family members. There will be plenty of opportunity for relatives to ask questions and to practice the skills learnt. The cost of this session for up to 12 people is £200.
