FRSPH, FRSA, AIfL, MInstLM.

Hi to all,

For as long as I can remember I have always known first aid. It is a skill I have learnt, taught and practised for many years. As a child I joined St John Ambulance and was hooked from day one. I volunteered for St John Ambulance for many years and decided that a medical career was the one for me. I initially trained and worked in the operating theatre of The Thames valley Nuffield Hospital (Now called The Spire Thames Valley). I finished my training and graduated in 1999. I never lost my interest in pre hospital care and whilst at this hospital started working on a part time basis for a local health care training company. I was offered a full time post as a training consultant with this company and eventually became the operations manager of their ambulance service. During my time with this company my reputation as a trainer and assessor grew and it wasn't long before I was asked to provide my own training. I left to start up my own training company, ABC Medical Services (Reading) Ltd is now 10 years old and is going strong! The company is based at The University of Reading and provides training for the University and the business / public sector.

As a parent myself I am fully aware of how important it is for parents and family members to have first aid training. I have developed a range of courses specifically for parents and families. These courses are totally bespoke to the family requirements. Parents don't normally want to attend a formal course and so these courses can be run in the home. I aim to deliver the training in a relaxed and informal way. The main aim is to give confidence in dealing with the emergencies that parents and family members can encounter in the home. The training is fun and informative and is delivered on a personal level.

I hope you enjoy your training and look forward to meeting you soon.

Take care of each other!

Regards
Mark
